About the Role

Ventia is seeking a Senior Bid Writer to play a pivotal role in securing opportunities for our ANZ Transport business. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility of working from home and from one of our offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality bid responses incorporating required content and key messages.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop section responses.
  • Write targeted bid content from research, interviews, and discussions.
  • Provide substantive and final editing within tight timeframes.
  • Develop Win Themes with the bid team and ensure those themes are woven through bid responses.
  • Facilitate peer reviews for written documents.
  • Review written content to ensure alignment to bid strategy and client priorities.
  • Track Progress of written documents to ensure review and submission dates are met.
  • Manage or provide guidance to external writers when required for larger bid proposals.
  • Lead coordination of submissions where required.

About You:

  • At least 5 years' experience preparing complex bids in a tier 1 bid environment.
  • Proven professional level writing and editing skills.
  • Superior communication skills, including knowing when and how to communicate in the bid environment.
  • Strategic thinking skills that help draw out win themes and client drivers.
  • MS Word formatting skills (use of Styles and macro templates).
  • Knowledge of the infrastructure industry including asset management, road construction, operation, and maintenance.
  • Able to work collaboratively in fast-paced teams.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Professional writing/editing qualification.
  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, journalism, or similar.
  • Bid process training – Shipley and Miller Heiman preferred.
  • Experience in strategy, win theme, and/or content development.
  • Ability to develop supporting imagery/graphics.
  • MS PowerPoint formatting skills.
  • Adobe InDesign or Canva formatting skills.
