About the Role

Ventia is seeking a full-time Senior Bid Writer to play a pivotal role in securing opportunities for our ANZ Transport business. You will produce high-quality bid content and work collaboratively with teams on multi-authored documents to meet strict deadlines.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility of working from home and from one of our North Sydney, Parramatta, Melbourne, Brisbane, or Perth offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality bid responses incorporating required content and key messages
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop section responses
  • Write targeted bid content from research, interviews, and discussions
  • Provide substantive and final editing within tight timeframes
  • Develop Win Themes with the bid team and ensure those themes are woven through bid responses
  • Facilitate peer reviews for written documents
  • Review written content to ensure alignment to bid strategy and client priorities
  • Track Progress of written documents to ensure review and submission dates are met
  • Manage or provide guidance to external writers when required for larger bid proposals
  • Lead coordination of submissions where required

About You:

  • At least 5 years' experience preparing complex bids in a tier 1 bid environment
  • Proven professional level writing and editing skills
  • Superior communication skills, including knowing when and how to communicate in the bid environment
  • Strategic thinking skills that help draw out win themes and client drivers
  • MS Word formatting skills (use of Styles and macro templates)
  • Knowledge of the infrastructure industry including asset management, road construction, operation, and maintenance
  • Able to work collaboratively in fast-paced teams

Preferred Attributes:

  • Professional writing/editing qualification
  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, journalism, or similar
  • Bid process training – Shipley and Miller Heiman preferred
  • Experience in strategy, win theme, and/or content development
  • Ability to develop supporting imagery/graphics
  • MS PowerPoint formatting skills
  • Adobe InDesign or Canva formatting skills
