Job Opportunity:

This is an exciting career opportunity to join a leading renewable energy business with 20 years of experience in the sector. The company has doubled its renewable energy portfolio in the last two years and is now hiring key personnel to drive growth.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Protection Engineer to lead our protection and secondary engineering function. As the key representative for all protection and secondary-related projects, you will collaborate with our team, stakeholders, and external partners to deliver high-quality outcomes.

  • Conduct system fault analysis to ensure network resilience and stability.
  • Develop protection grading strategies to optimize system performance.
  • Oversee functional design and integration for complex transmission projects.
  • Provide expertise in transmission network systems, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, working closely with internal teams and external partners.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and extensive experience in protection engineering, secondary design, and automation. Proven expertise in transmission network projects, ideally within an EPC environment, is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of protection and automation requirements is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Principal Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  2. Ensuring compliance with industry best practices and protection specifications.
  3. Managing stakeholder relationships and collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
