Job Role: IT Infrastructure Specialist

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT professional to fill the role of IT Infrastructure Specialist. This contract position is based in Australia, with immediate commencement required. As an IT Infrastructure Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our organization's critical infrastructure across legacy and modern systems within a high-availability environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Administer Oracle Solaris and Linux systems on SPARC M12, S7-series, and x86 hardware platforms.
2. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot OS-level errors to ensure optimal uptime and usability.
3. Apply configuration updates and implement security hardening measures to maintain system integrity.
4. Optimize systems for maximum efficiency and provide testing and support for legacy platforms.
5. Deliver 24/7 operational monitoring and console support services.
6. Collaborate with third-party engineers to resolve onsite issues and perform changes as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Oracle Solaris and Oracle Linux administration, with a strong understanding of SPARC and x86 platform operations, including Unix shell scripting and automation. Familiarity with system optimization and legacy support methodologies is also essential. Additionally, the ability to monitor master consoles and respond to OS errors in a timely manner is crucial. Advanced knowledge of SPARC Solaris/Oracle Linux administration, with proficiency in system troubleshooting and repair, is also required. Experience supporting enterprise applications and Oracle technologies, with a focus on high availability and reliability, is highly desirable.
