About Us Abergeldie is a majority locally owned contractor with 30 years' industry experience in Australia and New Zealand.
We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors.
Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.
About the role Abergeldie Structural Fabrications (ASF) is the specialist steel-fabrication arm of Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure.
Based in Regents Park, ASF designs, cuts, welds and delivers structural-steel components for major infrastructure projects including bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment facilities, rail works, mining infrastructure and pipeline rehabilitation.We're looking for someone with experience in welding and fabrication procedures and interpreting drawings to join our team in Regents Park on a casual basis, with the view to going permanent after 6 months.
Your responsibilities Fabricating and welding productsSelecting, cleaning and preparing metal from stockCutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machinesJoining metal sections using various welding techniques, boltingExamining welds for width, penetration and precisionCleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiseling and grinding What you need TIG & MIG welding experience in a manufacturing environmentSome experience in stainless steel and aluminum welding is a big advantageWelding Certification or relevant experienceCurrent driver's license and reliable transportBe able to work in a team environmentBe motivated, reliable and take pride in their workmanshipA strong safety focused work ethicBoilermaking experience is an advantage Why you should work with us Our people are what make Abergeldie successful, and we make sure that this is the kind of place where great people enjoy working for the long term.
