Strategic Director for Intellectual Property and Research Translation

As a key member of the University of South Australia's senior leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the commercialisation of the institution's research output and intellectual property. This involves developing and implementing strategies to identify, negotiate, and deliver commercial opportunities for UniSA's valuable technology IP, including licenses, spin-outs, and start-ups.
You will work closely with the Chair of UniSA Ventures and oversee the operation of this wholly owned subsidiary, as well as collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to build and maintain strong, effective relationships. Your goal will be to secure the promotion and delivery of research translation opportunities, contributing to the University's vision of becoming a global leader in innovation and enterprise.

Key Skills and Experience
- Significant experience in the commercialisation of research and development, technology transfer, and intellectual property, or equivalent experience in a complex environment.
- Proven ability to build and develop key strategic relationships and deliver end-to-end conversion of commercialisation opportunities to support strategic objectives.
- Strong experience in high-level project management and building sound and productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Extensive experience in leadership and management of people in both direct and matrixed environments.
- Excellent understanding of the industry, professional, and government environments in Australia and internationally in relation to research commercialisation and translation.
