About the Opportunity

As a key member of the University of South Australia's senior leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic leadership and coordination of the university's intellectual property and research translation activities.

This involves overseeing the development and implementation of strategies to commercialise the university's valuable technology IP, including licences, spinouts, start-up companies, and other commercial arrangements. You will work closely with the Chair of UniSA Ventures and oversee the operation of this wholly owned subsidiary of the university.

You will also collaborate with the Deputy Vice Chancellor: Research & Enterprise and Director: Enterprise Partnerships to build and maintain strong relationships with researchers, industry partners, government agencies, and the investment community to secure research translation opportunities.

We are seeking an experienced professional with a track record in the commercialisation of R&D, technology transfer, and IP management. Your expertise will enable us to maximise the value of our research and drive growth through strategic partnerships and collaborations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong background in commercialising R&D, technology transfer, or IP management, with a proven track record of success;
  • Experience in leading high-performing teams and building strategic relationships with stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to drive complex projects forward;
  • A deep understanding of the Australian and international research commercialisation landscape;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.

In return, we offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of AUD $180,000 - $220,000 per annum, plus superannuation and benefits.
