About the Role

The Manager, Governance and Reporting will oversee the provision of support and advice to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic (DVCA) and Academic Portfolio in relation to governance, reporting, and equity evaluation frameworks. This role will play a key part in the design and implementation of a DVCA governance strategy, as well as supporting various committees and working groups and the preparation of strategic papers and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of governance frameworks and strategies for the DVCA portfolio.
  • Provide expert advice and support to the DVCA and Academic Portfolio on governance, reporting, and equity evaluation matters.
  • Collaborate with various committees and working groups to ensure effective governance and reporting practices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including academic and professional staff, students, and external partners.
  • Prepare and present reports and papers on governance and reporting matters to the DVCA and Academic Portfolio.
Requirements
  • A degree with substantial extension of the theories and principles, learned through experience; or a range of management experience; or postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training, and/or experience.
  • Experience in leading or undertaking significant evaluation functions, preferably in a higher education context.
  • Ability to apply theoretical knowledge or management or policy expertise to bring together diverse and sometimes conflicting information to solve new or one-off problems.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills with experience in managing and leading staff to promote a cohesive and effective team and managing workflows.
