Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Buying stream as a Category Buyer Assistant. You will play an integral role in supporting the Merchandise team, working on various categories and enjoying a hybrid working model.

  • Support the Category Buyer and Category through maintaining buy plans, product attributes, sample management, and buyer processes.
  • Perform master data registration, maintenance, and ensure timely and accurate product information flow.
  • Ensure all aspects of products align with company standards.
Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Product management and maintenance, including buying master workbooks updates, sample management, product registration, and range book development and maintenance.
  • Ensuring products are registered, priced, and advertised accurately.
  • Engaging with business stakeholders to coordinate the flow of product and information from suppliers to stores and customers.
  • Registering and maintaining item registration, price, and promotional data correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborating with Myer buying teams and stakeholders to ensure business process and master data accuracy.
  • Supporting system and administration-related functions.
  • Assisting in preparing weekly trade reports and coordinating online product ranging.
  • Accountable for end-to-end coordination of online product ranging, supplier communication, pricing, and copy.
  • Assisting Buyers with supplier rebate processes and being accountable for supplier communication, collection, and submission to internal finance.
  • Supporting the end-to-end marketing process by loading promotions, creating tickets for stores, and ensuring all product is photographed and ready for online.
About You
  • You should have experience in Retail or Customer Service.
  • Strong administration skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Relevant tertiary education (fashion, marketing, business, commerce) is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong customer focus with a professional approach.
  • Good planning and time management skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skill in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Confident using software programs.
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and other key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team player with a 'can-do' attitude; previous experience or exposure to a Merchandise Buying Office will be highly regarded.
