Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster resident engagement by planning activities such as art classes, gardening clubs, day trips, and movie nights.
  • Connect residents and foster a sense of belonging through social interactions.
  • Provide emotional support and assist with daily living tasks like mealtimes and outings for those with cognitive impairment or mental health needs.
  • Act as a resident champion by gathering feedback and ensuring activities meet their needs.
  • Collaborate with the care team to plan activities, document progress, and escalate concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols.
  • Assist with meal preparation and serving, adhering to food safety standards and monitoring resident preferences.

Requirements:

  • A passion for enriching lives is essential.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a can-do attitude are required.
  • Creative ideas to make every day an adventure are welcome.
  • Excellent communication skills to connect with residents and colleagues.
  • Previous experience caring for elders in an Aged Care or community setting is necessary.
  • A Certificate III in Leisure and Lifestyle or Individual Support, or willingness to complete, is required.
  • A First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain one, is also necessary.
  • An Australian driver's license is required.
