Safety and Wellbeing Unit Manager

The City of Whittlesea is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Wellbeing Unit Manager to join our People and Culture Department. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing key people policies and strategies to support our ambition to be a High Performing Organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic safety and wellbeing initiatives to support the achievement of organisational goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic guidance, advice, and analysis to Directorate leadership and management teams on safety and wellbeing interventions.
- Manage and lead strategic safety and wellbeing projects, and develop safety and wellbeing systems and processes to deliver People Strategy priorities.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the safety and wellbeing team, and contribute to the wider leadership agenda of the People and Culture Department.
- Extensive experience in OHS and/or wellbeing, with experience in an equivalent leadership role.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively gain cooperation with, communicate, and negotiate with all levels of internal management, staff, union officials, Health and Safety Representatives, and industry agencies.
- Strategic thinking and leadership skills to build safety and wellbeing performance, create a positive safety and wellbeing culture, and effect change.
- Detailed knowledge, experience, and application of relevant Safety and Wellbeing legislation.
