About the Role

Wintringham is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to join our team at our Tom Fitzgerald Aged Care Facility. As a Recreation Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and developing a recreation program that meets the individual leisure needs of each resident.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and continually developing a recreation program that maximizes the recreational independence of residents.
  • Supervising and supporting other members of the recreation team in the development of programs.
  • Encouraging residents to maintain their community associations and contacts.
  • Ensuring accurate and relevant documentation is up to date.
  • Promoting recreational opportunities available within the broader community.

Requirements

  • Experience within the social sector or a degree qualification in Leisure and Lifestyle, Psychology, Community Development, or a similar discipline.
  • Current driver's license (mandatory).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates (looked upon favorably).
  • Experience in working with older people.
  • Experience in recreational program planning and implementation.
  • Knowledge of local area and services.
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize community groups and resources.
