Role Overview

The Director of Regulatory Intelligence leads a high-performing team responsible for developing, coordinating and providing top-notch intelligence and analysis to inform strategic, operational and tactical planning and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the team effectively consistent with statutory responsibilities and the strategic direction and operational policies of the organisation.
  • Coordinate the development of regulatory intelligence capabilities and products to support regulatory activity.
  • Provide in-depth intelligence analysis on complex and sensitive issues, identifying opportunities, solutions and strategies to address contentious, long-term and emergent issues.
  • Establish effective communication systems, both internal and external to the Commission, to ensure stakeholders are consulted and information is disseminated as required.
  • Deliver briefings and documentation to clearly communicate findings of analysis to influence executive decision-making.
  • Represent the Commission at meetings and forums to provide expert intelligence, analysis and advice on key regulatory issues.
Requirements
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders in relation to difficult and/or sensitive issues.
  • Strong research, conceptual thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand and clearly communicate complex analytical findings.
  • Organisational skills and the capability to self-manage multiple competing priorities while working to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work independently and with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong data and regulatory intelligence literacy and reporting skills.
  • Understanding the role of data, intelligence and information by modern regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to manage, develop and lead a team.
Additional Information
  • This is a non-ongoing opportunity for an irregular/intermittent term, up to 12 months with the option to extend to a total of 24 months.
  • Appointment is conditional on successfully completing a national police check.
