Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Equipment Inspector to play a key role in lifting performance and reliability across our mobile fleet.

This is a hands-on, forward-looking role ideal for someone with extensive applicable machine experience who is passionate about asset condition monitoring, defect prevention, and setting maintenance teams up for success.

The successful candidate will work closely with supervisors and planners to identify defects before they cause downtime. They will provide accurate technical insights, high-quality defect documentation, and effective communication to keep equipment running safely and reliably.

The Maintenance Equipment Inspector will conduct routine inspections of various Caterpillar models, identifying and documenting defects with detailed notes and photos. They will collaborate with planners to assign appropriate labour, cost-effective parts, and accurate timelines to work orders.

The inspector's responsibilities will also include assisting with parts organisation and transport needs for time-critical tasks, supporting continuous improvement in defect turnaround, asset health, and reliability, and contributing to building a proactive maintenance schedule that avoids unplanned downtime.

They must have strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities, be confident communicators with a safety-first mindset, possess a proactive work ethic and ability to influence planned work outcomes, and have familiarity with digital maintenance systems.

A valid Australian manual driver's licence is required for this role.


Requirements:
  1. Qualifications: Heavy Diesel Fitter, Plant Mechanic, or related trade qualification
  2. Experience: Experience working with Caterpillar models
  3. Skills: Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities, confident communicator, proactive work ethic, familiarity with digital maintenance systems
