The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Asset Management team as a Reliability Engineer. In this key role, you will drive the enhancement of mobile equipment fleet performance by leveraging data insights and sound engineering principles.

You will lead efforts to improve equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and embed a proactive approach to asset reliability across the operation. To achieve this, you will analyze equipment performance and data to identify trends and improvement opportunities, develop and optimize asset strategies, and provide engineering support to the Off-Site Repairs team.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze equipment performance and data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and defect elimination (DE) investigations to identify and address issues affecting equipment reliability
  • Develop and optimize asset strategies, including condition monitoring and life cycle plans, to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, OEMs, and specialist contractors to implement sustainable solutions that enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime
  • Provide engineering support to the Off-Site Repairs team, including repair scope development and review, to ensure timely and effective resolution of equipment issues
  • Champion reliability best practice and build capability across the business through knowledge sharing and training initiatives
Key Requirements
  • A mechanical or electrical trade qualification
  • A tertiary qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (highly regarded)
  • Proven experience with heavy mobile equipment maintenance in an open cut mining environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the business
