Environmental Sustainability Manager

Our organisation is seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to lead our busy facility on the Gold Coast in creating a greener future.

  • Develop and implement environmental strategies and policies that align with our organisation's vision and values.
  • Lead a team of recycling professionals, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and industry standards related to environmental sustainability.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and community partners through effective communication and collaboration.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in environmental sustainability management, excellent leadership and communication skills, and knowledge of recycling processes and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the recycling facility.
  • Manage and lead a team, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and community partners.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities.
  • Implement process improvements and adopt innovative recycling technologies.
  • Engage in community outreach and promote environmental sustainability.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate operational reports and documentation.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Past experience in a managerial role within a recycling or similar facility.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of recycling processes and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and control costs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management software.
  • Commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement.
