Case Manager (Youth Justice)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Case Manager to provide community-based supervision and case management services to young people subject to Youth Justice Court orders.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for contributing to the rehabilitation of young people in the justice system, a strong understanding of the youth justice system, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

As a Case Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and supporting young people, preparing court reports, developing client service plans, and attending court for client matters.

You will also provide assessments, develop case plans/reports, and advocate for the provision of support services.

  • Passion for contributing to the rehabilitation of young people in the justice system
  • Understanding of the youth justice system, the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005, and associated policies and guidelines
  • Knowledge of case management principles and ability to utilise various assessments and interventions relevant to the background and needs of the young person
  • Empathy and cultural awareness, including appreciation of different cultures
  • Confidence in managing stakeholders and negotiating effectively to develop and implement solutions
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support young people in the community
  • Prepare and present court reports
  • Develop and implement client service plans
  • Attend court hearings and meetings
  • Provide assessments and develop case plans/reports
  • Advocate for the provision of support services
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Social Work or Diploma in Community Services Work (highly desirable)
  • Other tertiary qualifications at Diploma level or above with units of study in case management/casework practice and supervised practical work placements
  • Full driver's licence required due to emergency responses across the state
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) card required
