Job Overview

This role involves conducting industry-best practice repair and overhaul of DOWTY propeller systems to support our customers. As a key team member, you will work closely with the supervisor in a component workshop on various aircraft platforms.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform on-site Propeller systems maintenance, inclusive of repairs, modification installation, and preventative maintenance.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to customers within formal technical documents.
  • Offer hands-on technical assistance to GE manufacturing and repair facilities to meet output requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable product lines and aftermarket contractual obligations.
  • Train and oversee apprentices and less-experienced team members.
  • Manage administrative tasks, such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, supporting quotations, and capturing sales opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Site Quality, Safety Management, and EH&S policies, adhering to compliance requirements.
  • Maintain strong International Trade compliance regulations aligned to GE standards.
  • Provide customer insights and timely responses to queries covering relevant products.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
  • Prior experience in propeller maintenance and repair in both workshop and field environments.
  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills – Mechanical/Avionics or equivalent qualification.
Key Qualifications:
  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills – Mechanical/Avionics or equivalent.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-level customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including training abilities and report preparation.
  • Successful experience working in small teams.
  • Familiarity with civil/military regulatory frameworks.
  • A commitment to a safe and compliant work environment.
  • May require Australian Defence Force Security Clearance.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Sound project and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to use initiative, solve problems, and implement improvements.
