About the Role

The Asset Manager - Estimating plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of all project maintenance operations, aligning with Thiess' business objectives and strategic direction. Reporting directly to the Head of Assets, this position will be based in our offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate plant rates and maintenance cost estimates for tenders and existing projects.
  • Analyse project costs for monthly result reviews and tender benchmarking.
  • Complete asset life reviews considering operating costs, major component cycles, ownership costs, and overhaul requirements.
  • Provide input into asset selection for new work based on idle or new fleet availability, considering productivity, reliability, and cost.
  • Specify workshop infrastructure design, including tooling and support equipment, for effective maintenance of mobile fleet on existing and new projects.
  • Support Operations and Asset team in asset management administration process (asset setup, movements, capitalisation, strategies, budgets).
  • Provide support to the Asset Specialists and Graduates.
  • Strive for cost efficiencies where possible while not compromising safety.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Trade Qualified or Tertiary Qualifications.
  • Highly demonstrated experience in mining equipment management.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Proficient use of CATS, Entire, OCDC, JDE, Microsoft Office.
  • 5+yrs experience in relevant leadership, operational, and estimating roles.
  • Promote, encourage, and foster a safety culture within Thiess.
