Establishing Student Engagement through Innovative Teaching

Our school is seeking a qualified teacher to join our team as a Humanities Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering educational programs in years 7-12.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in teaching Humanities subjects, with a strong understanding of relevant curriculum and pedagogy. They will also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling them to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader community.
We are looking for a candidate who is committed to excellence and diversity, with a strong focus on student achievement and engagement. The successful applicant will have experience in responding to student learning needs, implementing high-impact teaching strategies, and using data to inform teaching practice.
The selected teacher will contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and priorities, focusing on increasing staff knowledge about student learning and high-quality instruction. They will also be expected to model exemplary classroom practice, mentor/coach other teachers, and provide expert advice on content, process, and pedagogy.
Key Selection Criteria include:
- Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills
- Experience in planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn
- Ability to monitor and assess student learning, using data to inform teaching practice
- Interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships
- Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, including reflecting on practice and engaging in professional learning
- Ability to actively promote the safety and wellbeing of all children, in line with Child Safe Standards
