About the Job
  • The role involves planning, preparation, and delivery of effective learning programs for students with learning difficulties and gaps.
  • You will contribute to the development and implementation of school objectives and planning.
  • Your primary goal is to establish a supportive school environment that fosters student growth and well-being.
  • You will be responsible for contributing to accountability processes, including reporting, individual personal learning plans, and requirements for NCCD.
  • As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will work collaboratively to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • In addition to your teaching responsibilities, you will also drive daily school bus runs.

This position is continuing, full-time.

About You
  • We are seeking an educator who understands and is committed to the values of Catholic education in the Edmund Rice tradition.
  • You must hold Queensland College of Teachers Registration and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Relevant qualifications and skills are essential, as well as demonstrated ability in developing and implementing a range of learning choices that meet the diverse needs of students.
  • You should have a proven track record of differentiating curriculum to meet the needs of students, as well as success in building relationships with students at risk.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills are required to effectively relate to colleagues, students, and parents in a cross-cultural environment.
  • You must be committed to participating in critical reflection around working together under four principles: respect, safety, honesty, and participation.

Desirable attributes include:

  • Previous experience teaching Essential English and Maths or Short Course Literacy/Numeracy.
  • Experience in EREA Flexible Schools or alternative schooling environments.
  • Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning, Project-Based Learning, and Adventure-Based Learning.
  • Ability to teach across multiple subject areas, particularly Middle Schooling (or willingness to do so).
