This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Claims Specialist to play a pivotal part in ensuring that high-value and complex claims are resolved efficiently and fairly. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Specialty claims, including professional indemnity, injury, and property liability.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage end-to-end claims across class actions, cluster claims, and high-value exposures, providing strategic advice on policy interpretation, litigation, and claim resolution.
  2. Collaborate with internal legal teams, panel firms, and counsel to manage legal complexities, attending mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings as required.
  3. Support technical oversight and mentoring within the Specialty claims team, developing governance frameworks and reporting for emerging risks and financial impacts.
  4. Promote alignment of claims strategies across internal stakeholders, contributing to process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
  1. Tertiary qualifications in law, business, or insurance (mandatory), supported by industry qualifications such as Diploma in Financial Services (mandatory).
  2. 5–10 years' experience managing complex liability or professional indemnity claims, with litigation experience, including briefing panel firms or direct involvement (mandatory).
  3. Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills, combined with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  4. Experience mentoring and developing team members, sound knowledge of relevant legislation and claims systems.
