Fire Protection Operations Specialist

Our team is seeking a skilled Fire Protection Operations Specialist to ensure the safety and reliability of fire protection systems.

About This Role
  • Conduct regular inspections, perform routine maintenance, and implement proactive measures to optimize fire protection system performance and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with teams to assess risks, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and inspect smoke and fire suppression systems, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to industry standards.
  • Inspect, test, and repair fire alarm wiring, panels, and peripheral equipment to prevent potential hazards.
  • Identify and address defects, adjustments, or repairs needed for fire protection systems.
  • Inspect, repair, or replace smoke/heat detectors and sprinkler heads to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Test wet/dry systems and diagnose issues with fire alarm devices using appropriate diagnostic programs and test equipment.
  • Verify work aligns with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Interpret system design plans, building construction drawings, and documents to inform maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform true test smoke detector sensitivity procedures to ensure accurate results.
  • Implement routine maintenance on equipment and determine necessary maintenance schedules.
Requirements
  • Citizenship in the US or Australia is required.
  • Minimum five years of experience working with fire protection equipment and systems.
  • NICET II or NICET III certification.
  • Qualifications must meet UFC (US DoD) or Australian equivalent standards acceptable to the government.

This role will be based at our 4,400-acre facility in Alice Springs, encompassing approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space. On-site presence is expected to be 100%.
