Job Overview

This is an Aboriginal Identified Role that requires someone to bring their cultural capability and lived experience as an Aboriginal person.

Main Responsibilities
  • Health Promotion Programs: The role involves planning, implementing, evaluating and coordinating Aboriginal-specific health promotion programs focused on HIV, STIs and viral hepatitis.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Delivering key priorities outlined in local, state and national strategies for HIV, STIs, hepatitis C and hepatitis B by building and strengthening collaborative relationships between health services, Aboriginal-led organisations and other sectors working with Aboriginal communities.
Selection Criteria
  • Be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
  • Demonstrate relevant qualifications in a health-related field and/or experience as a health worker / health promotion/project worker in the government or non-government sector.
  • Showcase demonstrated knowledge of current HIV, sexual health and hepatitis prevention, testing and treatment and understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal community particularly young Aboriginal people.
