This is a dynamic leadership role that combines strategic insight, operational oversight, and stakeholder engagement to deliver meaningful impact across the health system.
As an Associate Director, you will lead a team of six, ensuring effective delivery of branch priorities across the health system. You will also provide trusted advice and high-level communications on behalf of the Executive Director, acting as key executive contact to manage issues and requests with accuracy, timeliness, and influence.
You will build strong partnerships across the Ministry and with external stakeholders to deliver workforce priorities, overseeing budgets, planning, and reporting to align branch activities with organisational goals. Additionally, you will anticipate risks and emerging issues, developing strategies to support informed decision making and timely organisational responses.
Key Requirements- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience with a strong commitment to ongoing growth and professional development.
- Experience in government or the broader public sector or understanding of complex governance environments.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day operations.
- Experience building trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills guiding, supporting, and collaborating across all levels of the organisation.
