About the Role

The Employment Coordinator, Mental Health Services will act as an expert resource to the Sydney teams by completing and providing support to team members to undertake relevant employment conversations, assessments, referrals and addressing potential barriers to employment and achieving goals.

The Employment Coordinator, Mental Health Services will also engage in discussions with people accessing the services about their aspirations and goals regarding employment whilst also assisting in developing their Individual Employment Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting all performance targets set by the Manager and assist sites in achieving these by working as part of the Flourish Australia mental health services team.
  • Act as an expert internal resource to the Sydney teams by providing support to existing local staff in delivery of the employment supports.
  • Engage local businesses and employers to source and create job vacancies for people accessing Flourish Australia's services.
  • Provide support, mentoring and other assistance ensuring the sustainability of people's employment placements and to track all placements to effectively support people to meet their employment goals.
  • Develop and facilitate employment focused workshops for people accessing the service.
  • Work with local site teams in assisting jobseekers to overcome both vocational and non-vocational barriers to employment.

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree OR a Relevant Certificate IV OR relevant diploma as recognised by Flourish Australia. For example, training and assessment, employment services, or a health related discipline.
  • A minimum of three (3) years full-time experience working in a mental health or employment related field, as recognised by Flourish Australia.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and negotiation skills, and excellent interpersonal organisational skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and ability to fully utilise the relevant information management system(s)
  • Knowledge of the challenges and barriers for people in the workplace who live with a mental health issue.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
