About the Role
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop robust back-end infrastructure in Python to support power system analysis tools, ensuring seamless integration with existing platforms and facilitating data-driven decision making.

  • Built intuitive graphical user interfaces using Vue.js for engineers to execute simulations, enhancing collaboration and productivity within the organization.

  • Updated existing Python tool code to enterprise standards, guaranteeing scalability, maintainability, and alignment with industry best practices.

  • Collaborate with Power System Engineers to implement new power system analysis functions, ensuring compatibility with internal platforms and driving business growth.

  • Document processes to maintain the Market Analysis to Network Analysis (MANA) platform, promoting knowledge sharing and reducing technical debt.

  • Provided support for the existing AEMO Modelling Platform (AMP), ensuring smooth operation and maximizing its potential to drive business success.

Requirements
  • Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong programming skills, with a preference for Python, ensuring proficiency in language fundamentals, design patterns, and software engineering principles.

  • Experience in data management, automation, and GUI development (Vue.js desirable), showcasing expertise in database design, API integration, and UI/UX best practices.

  • Familiarity with power system modelling tools desirable (e.g., PSSE, PSCAD, SCADA/EMS), indicating understanding of domain-specific requirements and capabilities.

  • Knowledge of version control (Git), test-driven development, and domain modelling, highlighting commitment to coding standards, collaborative development, and effective project management.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, demonstrating academic foundation and professional relevance.

  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for solving complex energy challenges, reflecting ability to work effectively in a team environment and drive innovative solutions.
