We are currently have a part time contract opportunity as a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (SFVP) within the Family Violence Team until Feb 2026.

This role delivers high-quality, trauma-informed case management to women and children who are experiencing or have experienced family violence—including those who choose to remain in the relationship.

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (SFVP) to join our Family Violence Team. This role delivers high-quality, trauma-informed case management to women and children who are experiencing or have experienced family violence—including those who choose to remain in the relationship.

As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, you will provide intensive, client-centered casework using the MARAM framework and a trauma-informed, systems and developmental approach. You will support clients across various accommodation settings, including emergency and transitional housing, and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to promote safety, stability, and recovery.

This role includes participation in a crisis response and duty roster, and involves outreach work in the community and in emergency accommodation settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outreach case management to women and children impacted by family violence.
• Conduct MARAM risk and needs assessments, safety planning, and case planning.
• Coordinate referrals and liaise with specialist services.
• Support clients in emergency and transitional accommodation.
• Facilitate access to financial support and brokerage.
• Participate in crisis response and duty rosters.
• Advocate for clients and collaborate with care teams.
• Maintain accurate case notes and reporting in line with program standards.
  
  

About You

• A relevant tertiary qualification (Social Work, Psychology, or related field).
• Experience in family violence case management and risk assessment.
• Knowledge of the MARAM framework and information sharing schemes (FVISS/CISS).
• Experience working with high-risk clients and those with complex needs.
• Strong communication, advocacy, and collaboration skills.
• A current Driver's Licence, Police Check, and Employee Working with Children Check.
  
  

Mandatory Qualifications

As per Recommendation 209, applicants must meet one of the following:

• Hold a Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification
• OR Have 5+ years of relevant professional experience
• OR Be exempt under the policy
• OR Hold significant cultural knowledge or lived experience and be willing to work toward qualification.
