Clinical Coding Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent clinical coding skills to join our team.
- This role is ideal for someone who wants to expand or consolidate their experience with a more complex casemix.
The successful candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
Responsibilities- Providing guidance to Clinical Coders on Australian Clinical Coding Standards.
- Reviewing coded episodes before invoicing to minimize inaccuracies.
- Clarifying ambiguities in coding and documentation with relevant committees and clinicians.
- Analyzing revenue recovery and identifying coding/documentation deficiencies.
- Participating in audits and following up on recommendations.
- Liaising with stakeholders regarding coding and documentation issues.
- HIMAA Intermediate/Advanced Clinical Coding or auditing course.
- At least 5 years of recent clinical coding experience in a medium to large acute hospital.
- Interest and understanding of commercial implications of coded data.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Information Management or equivalent.
- Clinical Coding Audit qualification.
- Knowledge of webPAS patient administration system.
- Previous experience in a private hospital.
