Medical Care Specialist
This role supports the delivery of comprehensive medical services to diverse populations in Alice Springs, Australia.
- Obtains health history and performs physical examinations.
- Diagnoses and directs counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment.
- Prescribes medication in accordance with state statute and professional practice guidelines.
- Maintains a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with established Health Information Management policies and procedures.
- Ensures continuity of care by providing timely and comprehensive medical services.
- Delivers excellent customer service to assist patients with their healthcare needs.
- Arranges referrals for patients requiring services not offered on-site.
- Reviews incoming reports (e.g., lab, x-ray, EKG) and signs and dates them in a timely manner.
- Assists in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
- Participates in outside medical public relations functions.
- Remains committed to continuous learning and adapting to the latest medical advancements.
- Completes required organizational compliance education, including client-specified requirements, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
