Medical Practitioner Role
This position supports the delivery of medical services to a diverse population in Alice Springs, Australia.
Provides comprehensive medical services comparable to those offered by a USG Facility Medical Officer (FMO) during clinic hours of operation and after-hours coverage as necessary.
Obtains health history and performs physical examinations.
Diagnoses and directs counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment.
Prescribes medication in accordance with state statute and professional practice guidelines.
Maintains a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with established Health Information Management policies and procedures.
Ensures continuity of care by providing timely and comprehensive medical services.
Delivers excellent customer service to assist patients with their healthcare needs.
Arranges referrals for patients requiring services not offered on-site.
Reviews incoming reports (e.g., lab, x-ray, EKG) and signs and dates them in a timely manner.
Assists in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
Participates in outside medical public relations functions.
Remains committed to continuous learning and adapting to the latest medical advancements.
Completes required organizational compliance education, including client-specified requirements, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
