Medical Practitioner Role

This position supports the delivery of medical services to a diverse population in Alice Springs, Australia.

  • Provides comprehensive medical services comparable to those offered by a USG Facility Medical Officer (FMO) during clinic hours of operation and after-hours coverage as necessary.
  • Obtains health history and performs physical examinations.
  • Diagnoses and directs counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment.
  • Prescribes medication in accordance with state statute and professional practice guidelines.
  • Maintains a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with established Health Information Management policies and procedures.
  • Ensures continuity of care by providing timely and comprehensive medical services.
  • Delivers excellent customer service to assist patients with their healthcare needs.
  • Arranges referrals for patients requiring services not offered on-site.
  • Reviews incoming reports (e.g., lab, x-ray, EKG) and signs and dates them in a timely manner.
  • Assists in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
  • Participates in outside medical public relations functions.
  • Remains committed to continuous learning and adapting to the latest medical advancements.
  • Completes required organizational compliance education, including client-specified requirements, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
