Mental Health Leader for Older Adults

The Older Persons Community Mental Health Service is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Clinician to lead a multidisciplinary team in delivering person-centred, evidence-informed care to older adults experiencing complex mental health issues.
This role offers a unique chance to bring clinical expertise, empathy, and insight to guide a diverse team in providing high-quality services that are grounded in recovery principles.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide advanced clinical leadership and coordination in the delivery of mental health services to older adults (65+ or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 50+) with complex needs.
- Support recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and culturally safe care across community, residential, and inpatient settings.
- Clinical caseload management, tailored to the service's needs.
South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) provides comprehensive community-based mental health care across South Western Sydney.
The services cater to diverse age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older persons, ensuring specialized care throughout various life stages.
Essential Requirements:- Relevant qualifications as an Occupational Therapist registered with AHPRA or a qualified Social Worker eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Ability to assess and manage mental health conditions in older adults, particularly those with cognitive impairment or dementia.
- Experience in supporting and supervising junior clinicians within a multidisciplinary team, especially in older people's mental health.
- Australian C-Class driver's license, including P1 or P2.
