About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Traffic Engineer and NSW Transport Planning Strategist to join our team in Arup. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the Traffic Engineering pillar of our NSW/ACT Transport Planning team.

As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for promoting learning opportunities from successes and problems that arise, monitoring project progress, offering expert technical guidance, and fostering knowledge sharing among teams. You will also oversee business development initiatives, identify new opportunities, and execute comprehensive strategies in collaboration with senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall performance of the Traffic Engineering Pillar, ensuring seamless coordination and efficient resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress, offer technical expertise, and facilitate knowledge sharing among teams.
  • Drive business development initiatives, including identifying new opportunities and executing comprehensive strategies.
  • Proactively gather stakeholder feedback and expectations, collaborating with public relations and communication teams to maintain a positive image.
  • Spearhead stakeholder meetings, workshops, and consultations, measuring and reporting on engagement effectiveness and satisfaction.

Your Expertise:

  • Recognized tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in transport planning, traffic engineering, and infrastructure integration within a consulting environment.
  • Proficiency in software including AutoCAD, SIDRA, Aimsun, and VISSIM.
  • Experience in multi-modal infrastructure planning, transport impact assessments, active travel, and development planning in NSW/ACT.
  • Ability to grasp business dynamics, making informed decisions to drive growth and success by integrating market insights.
