Job Description
This role leads, develops and manages the improvement of systems to support services in fulfilling their responsibilities to recognise and respond to child safety, welfare and wellbeing concerns. It has a high level clinical focus and also includes education and systems improvement responsibilities.

The Child Wellbeing Services Manager assists in the development, delivery and evaluation of education and training programs for staff that build capacity to respond to the needs of vulnerable children and their families in the context of the safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and young people.

This is a key position in ensuring the LHD meets its responsibilities to protect and promote the wellbeing of children and young people.

Selection Criteria
  • A current registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist or relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or counselling.
  • Demonstrated high level understanding and post-graduate clinical experience of domestic violence, sexual assault and child protection and best practice models for clients who have experienced trauma.
  • Extensive experience in providing specialist consultation to staff in the area of trauma informed service delivery settings and specialist knowledge and understanding of child protection and wellbeing principles and practices.
  • Experience in developing, planning, implementing, delivering and evaluating training programs.
