Indigenous Culture Advocate

We are seeking an experienced professional to foster strong relationships with Indigenous communities and promote cultural safety in the workplace.

This role is dedicated to building capacity within our teams and supply chains, ensuring sustainable outcomes for Indigenous employment and procurement.

About the Role:

  • Lead delivery of Indigenous employment and retention goals, fostering a supportive work environment.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with employment partners, Indigenous organizations, and government agencies to expand opportunities and ensure sustainable outcomes.
  • Represent the organization on Indigenous panels, contribute to Indigenous enterprises, and lead engagement initiatives such as community programs and Indigenous pathways.
  • Assist with creating content, reporting, and submissions focused on Indigenous participation.
  • Maintain relationships throughout projects and engage with subcontractors to build capacity and meet targets.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in Government, Social Procurement, Diversity and Inclusion, Stakeholder Management, or similar fields.
  • Strong understanding of social procurement frameworks and Indigenous employment practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
  • Proven experience in program development, partner relationship management, and negotiation.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to work in diverse teams, and build strong business relationships.
