Job Title: Indigenous Healthcare Ambassador
About the Role:
- We provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, their families, and carers in accessing care services.
- The role involves visiting wards and spending quality time with patients, their families, and carers.
- Patients will have access to internal and external services at Austin Health through our assistance.
- We contribute to project work with Ngarra Jarra and other teams within the organization.
- The position offers opportunities to visit other hospitals and engage with local communities.
About You:
- Commitment to delivering excellent patient care is essential for this role.
- Knowledge of community health, public health, and Aboriginal health is necessary for success.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in health programs or community services is preferred.
- A strong work ethic and ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment are required.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills are necessary for this position.
- Good written and oral communication skills are also required.
