Payroll Services Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Payroll Professional to lead our payroll team in Australia and New Zealand. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic thinker with expertise in payroll operations and technology.
The successful candidate will oversee the payroll function, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant processing of payroll for all employees. They will manage a team of 6 payroll professionals and work closely with key departments to ensure payroll accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the Payroll Services team, facilitating team meetings, conducting one-on-one check-ins, overseeing performance cycles, and managing leave requests.
- Manage the team's workflow to ensure operational efficiency and the timely completion of payroll tasks.
- Ensure the payroll team delivers outstanding customer service by promptly addressing pay-related inquiries and maintaining high-quality service standards.
- Develop and implement risk management and business continuity plans to safeguard payroll operations.
- Stay up to date with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
We offer a competitive remuneration package, including a salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience. Other benefits include income protection insurance, corporate discounts, flexible work arrangements, and opportunities for professional development.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Extensive experience in payroll processing, within a supervisory or managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll systems and tax regulations.
- Experience with payroll software such as SAP ECC6, CATS, and SuccessFactors is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
This role is based in Fairfield, NSW, with regular travel to other locations across Australia and New Zealand.
