As a seasoned Application Architect at IBM, you will play a pivotal role in helping clients revolutionize their business and tackle complex challenges. Your expertise in defining project scope and vision will drive the delivery of customized solutions using IBM platforms. As a technical leader, you will serve as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and successful project outcomes.

Your Role and Responsibilities
We are currently seeking an experienced Application Architect-zOS for a 14-month fixed-term contract, based in Sydney. The Application Development team is responsible for supporting the full life cycle of enhancements. As an Application Architect, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Designing and implementing mainframe services such as scheduling, performance management, batch, CICS, backup, and restore processes.
  2. Utilizing advanced analytical tools like ADDI to analyze mainframe applications and drive data-driven decision-making.
  3. Providing application consulting services for various payments applications within CBA, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  4. Participating in architectural solution design, development, and technical reviews for payments applications to ensure adherence to established standards.
  5. Developing and implementing automation and tool development for mainframe applications, including ZOWE.
  6. Managing and owning deliverables of multiple mainframe batch projects for payments applications within CBA.
  7. Collaborating with clients to update project status and provide demos on new initiatives.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
To excel in this role, you will possess the following skills:

  1. Minimum 16+ years of experience in Mainframe applications, including Batch and online processes, with technical skills like Cobol, JCL, VSAM, CICS, etc.
  2. Strong analytical skills, with experience in using the latest analytical tools like ADDI.
  3. Experience in creating automations for mainframe applications using Rexx and Clist as key skills.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Experience in the Banking and finance domain, with a good understanding of payments and POS transactions switch processing.
  6. Certification and understanding of mainframe automation tools like ZOWE.
  7. Certification on AWS and understanding of cloud is a plus.
