Job Description

The Women's Apparel Merchandising Manager plays a critical role in executing the merchandise function for our women's business segment, driving future growth and success.

This position leads to maximum sell-through results by supporting the delivery of the area financial plan and global brand strategy. It is go-to-market focused in terms of execution and planning, with category responsibility for women's apparel including running, training, studio, sport style core, and basketball.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive and execute the area product assortment for relevant categories, aligning with the overall business strategy while achieving seasonal KPIs. This includes building and executing an area-relevant category assortment for wholesale and retail.
  2. Develop and execute the overall business strategy for relevant categories, driving desired business goals. This involves collaborating with other merchandise team members, area sales, retail, and marketing teams to coordinate activities against agreed and aligned financial targets or other area-relevant strategic goals.
  3. Follow and execute the seasonal critical path for merchandising on a seasonal basis, ensuring timely and effective implementation of plans.
  4. Develop strategic account plans, focusing on key partner accounts and driving maximum sell-through results.
  5. Execute the area merchandising plan to deliver against agreed area category plans/targets as well as annual personal KPIs. Collaborate with other teams to ensure coordinated activities and aligned financial targets.
  6. Guide and support key partner account implementation in the area, achieving maximum sell-through results and desired category mix.
  7. Manage global in-season opportunities outside regular timelines with fast response, leveraging analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  8. Drive immediate sales opportunities to the wholesale business via current stock opportunities and effective promotion via MyPuma Biz.
  9. Be an expert in respective categories for the area and understand the wider global market. Provide feedback on sell-through, product/consumer trends, pricing, competitor information, and market conditions at regular intervals, utilizing knowledge to make informed decisions on range selections.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years in retail merchandising or wholesale merchandising function.
  • Preferred industry: sports-lifestyle business.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to guide and motivate team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office as well as global merchandising and reporting systems.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reflect key findings to future planning.
  • Creativity and innovation, with the ability to drive new ideas and approaches.
  • Teamwork, with the ability to collaborate with other teams to achieve common goals.
  • Networking and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and effectively communicate with stakeholders.
