About the Role:

Council is seeking a skilled Development Engineer to cover long service leave within our Design team, ensuring subdivision projects meet regulatory standards and are delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee subdivision projects, manage project documentation, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Infrastructure Outcomes: Assess and facilitate environmental and infrastructure outcomes, maintaining transparency, probity, and social responsibility.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with various stakeholders to align projects with City aspirations and regulatory frameworks.
  • Technical Support: Provide high-level technical advice and supervise construction and materials.
  • Customer Service: Manage project budgets and address inquiries and complaints.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educational Qualification: Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven experience in subdivision construction, road and drainage design, infrastructure design, consultant and contract management.
  • Skills: Strong project management, negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of Council policies, local laws, town planning procedures, and civil engineering principles.
  • Certifications: Certification in Worksite Traffic Management, Construction Induction Card
  • Driver's Licence
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems, Traffic (SIDRA), stormwater (Drains) software, and innovative problem-solving skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must commit to rosters with a proven track record of good attendance and punctuality.
  • Must have National Police Certificate.
  • This role is only open to candidates on a working holiday visa, wanting short-term work or LG experience.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum based on location and experience.
