Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide geological expertise by identifying, mapping, and classifying materials to maximize ore recovery in our open pit.
  • Help refine and improve geological models and contribute to accurate mine planning, grade, and tonnage forecasting.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with grade control drill programs, including daily management, planning, scheduling, liaising with drillers, and data validation.
  • Interpret deposit mineralization, lithology, and structure through in-pit mapping and sampling.
  • Document and communicate the geology of the open pit mine.
  • Collaborate with technical services to extract mineralized domains, reducing dilution and maximizing recovery while meeting production targets.
  • Design ore blocks, conduct ore mark-outs, spotting, and bench mapping to optimize ore recovery and stockpile control.
  • Collect and analyze geological and production data to support daily geological services.
  • Communicate progress towards targets and KPIs to mining and technical teams.
  • Maintain communication through regular tracking of ore movements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A BSc in Geology or equivalent degree.
  • Open Pit experience is desirable.
  • A valid WA Driver's License C Class or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with GIS, 3D modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Deswik), and database systems (e.g., acQuire).
  • Understanding of QA/QC procedures, drilling, sampling practices, and standard gold industry laboratory analytical methods.
