About The Role
As the Project / Mine Geologist, you will provide geological expertise by identifying, mapping, and classifying materials to maximize ore recovery in our open pit.
You will also help refine and improve geological models and contribute to accurate mine planning, grade, and tonnage forecasting.
Your Duties Will Include
Assisting with grade control drill programs, including daily management, planning, scheduling, liaising with drillers, and data validation.
Interpreting deposit mineralization, lithology, and structure through in-pit mapping and sampling.
Documenting and communicating the geology of the open pit mine.
Collaborating with technical services to extract mineralized domains, reducing dilution and maximizing recovery while meeting production targets.
Designing ore blocks, conducting ore mark-outs, spotting, and bench mapping to optimize ore recovery and stockpile control.
Collating geological and production data and reports to support daily geological services.
Providing feedback to mining and technical teams on progress towards targets and KPIs.
Maintaining communication through daily, weekly, and monthly tracking of ore movements.
Qualifications & Experience
BSc in Geology or equivalent.
Open Pit experience is desirable.
WA Driver's License C Class or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years in a similar role.
Proficiency with GIS, 3D modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Deswik), and database systems (e.g., acQuire).
Understanding of QA/QC procedures, drilling, sampling practices, and standard gold industry laboratory analytical methods.
