About the Role

We are seeking a Defence Support Specialist to join our team in the Joint Capabilities Group (JCG). As a National Capability Expert, you will play a crucial role in providing analysis, assessments and intelligence activities to support the new National Support Division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to understand national support capacity, capabilities and preparedness;
  • Provide expert advice on national support resources required for competition, crisis and conflict;
  • Quantify Defence's requirements for national support as part of a whole-of-nation approach.

You will work closely with our team to develop informed and timely outcomes for National Support. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to the development of the new Division.

Requirements
  • Proven technical analysis and assessment knowledge and skills;
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and ability to lead yourself and others through collaborative relationships and planning;
  • Ability to make recommendations to resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action;
  • High-level organisational skills, self-drive and initiative with ability to influence others to achieve tasks and business objectives;
  • In-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and policy requirements;
  • Qualifications in Business Administration, Contracting, Public Administration or related discipline;
  • Interpersonal skills to foster and promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with Defence values.
About Our Team

National Support teams will work collaboratively to enable Defence to plan, organise and draw upon whole-of-government and whole-of-nation capabilities to improve Defence and the nation's resilience. We are a small and supportive team of professionals who work closely to achieve outcomes.
