The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Australia's leading public healthcare providers. This esteemed institution is seeking a Lead Patient Engagement Specialist to join its dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:- Reporting to the Manager - Revenue Services, work closely with patients, families, clinical and administration teams across the Emergency Department (ED) and wards.
- Encourage private and compensable admissions; classify patients with eligible health funds or third-party cover in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Identify insurance status for Medicare Ineligible Patients (Overseas Visitors).
- Collaborate with Revenue Services workstreams (Billing, Collections, Cashiers) and be co-located across RMH sites as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and contribute to automation developments as a billing subject matter expert.
- Be available on weekends on a rotating roster to provide roaming services across wards and ED.
- An adaptable, collaborative individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player committed to continuous improvement and challenging the current state.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems when interpreting data.
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external groups.
