About this role:
To enhance the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Parents, Children and young people and their families using a Primary Health Care Model that incorporates a multi-disciplinary, collaborative care planning approach to meet the individual and family needs working with minimal supervision.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the community by providing culturally safe and appropriate child and family health service for children from birth to 12 years, parents/carers, and their families.
- Child health clinics for growth and development health assessments will be conducted to ensure the overall well-being of the children.
- Hearing and Vision assessments will be performed regularly to identify any potential issues early on.
- Health promotion and health education activities will be carried out to empower the community with knowledge and skills to maintain good health.
- The Immunisation clinic will provide essential vaccinations to protect against vaccine preventable diseases.
- A Hearing clinic will be established to cater to the specific needs of the community.
- The Indigenous school hearing program will be implemented to support the educational journey of the students.
- The Indigenous paediatrics clinic will offer comprehensive healthcare services to the children and their families.
- Possession of a Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or working towards the Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
- Experience in hearing health, child and family health and health promotion would be highly regarded but not essential.
