Rockhampton Hospital is seeking a specialist in Psychiatry of Old Age to provide medical services across the continuum of care. This role requires a strong background in psychiatric practice and extensive skills in facilitating mental health care within a multidisciplinary environment.

The position involves providing medical services to Rockhampton Mental Health Service Inpatient Unit, Older persons Inpatient Unit and Acute Care Team. The Consultant team consists of 18.5 consultant positions with subspecialty interests including Psychiatry of Old Age, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Forensics, Developmental Disability, Intellectual Handicap, ABI and Addiction psychiatry.

  • Applicants should be registered as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and hold a Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Candidates with an interest in and/or certification in Psychiatry of Old Age will be preferred, but consideration may also be given to General Adult Psychiatrists.
