Recovery Worker Role

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Recovery Worker to join our team in Warrnambool. As a key member of our Early Intervention Psychosocial Support (EIPSR) team, you will provide vital support to individuals with psychiatric disabilities, helping them achieve meaningful health, social, and economic outcomes within their communities.

Your primary focus will be on engaging participants, their families, and friends in the program, developing professional and trusting working relationships, and conducting regular face-to-face support visits. You will also encourage linkages into various activities to support achievement of goals, including all other services available.

In this role, you will develop individually tailored recovery plans with each participant, incorporating specific individual goals focusing on skill and knowledge development, physical health and wellbeing, and housing outcomes. You will provide direct practical support to participants to attain the skills required to meet the goals identified, ensuring social inclusion through group activities as appropriate.

You will regularly review the ways in which services are provided to ensure the program is aligned with individual needs, adapting your approach as necessary. This fixed-term position offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of those you support.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need relevant qualifications or commensurate experience in working in a support role for people with mental health issues, generally a Certificate IV qualification or above. Additionally, you must have a current valid Driver's License and the ability to undertake travel for the role. Other requirements include a Current Working with Children Check, NDIS Workers Screening Check, Right to Work within Australia, Satisfactory National Police Records Check, and NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate.
