Character Development Specialist

 

The animation industry is in need of innovative and skilled professionals to work on various animated projects. We are currently looking for a highly experienced Character TD to join our team.

Our ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of character specialization, body anatomy, facial expressions, object-oriented scripting, and tool management. They should be able to collaborate with the Animation team to develop intuitive motion systems and character deformation.

As a key player in animation, we rely on our talented Character TDs to create high-end rigs for characters, creatures, props, and vehicles that bring animated stories to life.

Key responsibilities include developing, testing, and maintaining character motion and deformation setups, working closely with our Modeling team, Rigging Supervisors, and Animation Leads/Supervisors to implement new techniques and tools to streamline production.

Experience with major character or creature projects, as well as programming/scripting skills (Python, Maya API, C++) for module and tool development, is essential. A strong visual and artistic sense, combined with technical skills in character/creature work, is also required.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience with character or creature projects
  • Thorough knowledge of character specialization, including body anatomy and facial expressions
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work with animation teams
  • Strong understanding of Python and Maya scripting
  • Excellent visual and artistic skills, comfortable with technical aspects of character/creature work
Preferred Skills:
  • Programming/scripting skills (Python, Maya API, C++) for module and tool development
  • Cloth Simulation experience using nCloth, Houdini, or similar
  • Experience with Unreal Engine or other real-time rendering software
