Support Young People in Achieving Recovery Goals

We are seeking skilled individuals to support young people in achieving recovery and wellness objectives. As a Peer Practitioner, you will utilize your lived experience of mental health challenges to connect with young people through assertive outreach, coordinate support, and empower them to achieve wellbeing goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Use your lived/living experience of mental ill health and recovery to build connection, offer hope, and support others on their recovery journey.
  • Provide tailored and integrated case managed responses to young people through flexible outreach.
  • Deliver high-quality services to respond to the unique needs of young people, offering a flexible and person-centred approach.
  • Offer resources and support to help young people foster positive relationships with those important to them.
  • Support young people to navigate services and connect with community supports that help them build confidence, independence, and meaningful participation in daily life.
  • Contribute to co-design and service improvement, championing the voice and leadership of people with lived experience.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Peer Work, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) or other health-related fields are required.
  • Lived or living experience of mental distress and recovery is essential, along with a willingness to share learnings and recovery-oriented practice.
  • Previous experience in using lived experience and expertise in a dedicated Peer role is preferred.
  • A valid, unrestricted driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are mandatory.
